An Award-Winning Filmmaker, Erica Filanc Tanamachi Directs, Produces and Edits documentaries that tell compelling stories about life. With a Masters of Fine Arts in Cinema and and over 15 years experience in film, Erica has the professionalism, knowledge and creativity to bring your story to life. 
 Erica was born and raised in a small beach town in San Diego, California and grew up very involved with theatre and the arts. She became interested in film at UC Davis where she studied English Literature, Creative Writing and Theatre. After studying abroad in Santiago Chile, Erica realized the power of cinema. She finished her B.A. at UC Davis in 2002 and moved to Los Angeles where she worked for a production company at the Warner Bros. Studios.  After working on a documentary for the Discovery Health® Channel, she picked up the camera herself to make her first documentary about a Maasai warrior on an American tour to raise money for his new tourism company in Tanzania. Moving into documentary felt like a natural career path, being that she is constantly critical and inspired by the natural happenings of life's daily existence. Erica then moved to San Francisco to begin her MFA at San Francisco State University. Erica remains in the Bay Area making documentaries for both film festivals and clients. Clients include, but not limited to,, Intel, International Institute of the Bay Area, Catholic Charities & KQED. 
As a fashion lover and a very confident producer, in 2008, Erica ventured into the fashion world as Creative Director/Co-Founder of Christopher Collins™, a women's ready-to-wear fashion company. Along with her business partner, she grew the company to stocking over 100 boutiques and department stores throughout the United States and Canada. Christopher Collins™ Collection gained traction right away as a Gen ART recipient and a finalist for the CFDA Scholarship. Christopher Collins also received international exposure on Project Runway, Season 8. The collections showed in NYC Fashion Week, El Paseo Fashion Week, Birmingham Fashion Week and Hawaii Fashion Week. Her commitment, dedication and passion took the label to national recognition and landed an investor to expand the company's reach to international department stores in 2013.
Christopher and Erica's designs and Erica's photography have been published in multiple local and national publications such as Lucky Magazine, US Weekly, Shape Magazine, Women’s Wear Daily, SF Chronicle, 944 Magazine, Marin Magazine, Where Magazine. They also dressed celebrities such as Jennifer Siebel Newsom, Jessica Alba and Sarah Jessica Parker.
